The president of University of the Fraser Valley visited GZMU

The President of University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) Mr. Evered and his wife, be accompany with Betty Wang from China Canada liaison, and Zhang Nan from China Canada marketing center visited Guizhou Minzu University on May 23rd, from which the two universities reached to an agreement on developing oversea study programs and teachers training programs.

After the president and his wife arrived, they first visited the campus. They all like GZMU a lot and being amazed about its pleasant weather, fresh air and beautiful scene. Then they visited our Exhibition Room of Minority Culture in the library. Looking at these valuable exhibits, Mr.Evered feels that Chinese minority is quite similar to Canada aboriginal, he suggested that we could communicate more to develop ethnical education.

After the short sight-seeing of the school, the president came to our first meeting-room and had a negotiation meeting about our cooperative international programs. The vice-president of GZMU Ms.Wu Xiaoping, director of OIEC Mr.Tian Jingren, vice director Zeng Li, Dean of IT college Ren Dashen, Professor Hu Jingmin attended this meeting. During the meeting, the presidents of two sides discussed about the feasible program that we can cooperate like teacher’s training program, exchange student program, bachelor degree program and post-graduate certificate program. This meeting greatly promoted the relationship between UFV and GZMU, as well as the development of our oversea programs.
