A Delegation from Maryvit School Thailand Visited GZMU

On September 27th, the Executive President Steven Chana Kitikiatisak and the delegation from Maryvit School Thailand visited our university for exchange and had a discussion in the No.1 meeting room in Huaxi campus. The Vice President of GZMU Prof. Wei Wei, the Vice Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of School of Chinese Language and Literature Prof. Li Xianjun and the Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Dean of School of International Education Prof. Zeng Li attended the meeting.

Prof. Zeng Li expressed her cordial welcome to Steven Chana Kitikiatisak and his delegation to our school. She briefly introduced the essential information and achievements of cooperation and exchanges with foreign countries of GZMU to the delegation from Maryvit School.

Steven Chana Kitikiatisak showed gratitude for our hospitality. He briefly introduced some fundamental information about Maryvit School. He expressed that with the promotion of the “One Belt and One Road” strategy, the economic exchanges between China and Thailand have become more and more close, and the demand for Chinese talents has greatly increased. He hoped that the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities would be further deepened. ThenProf. Li Xianjun introduced the basic situation of the School of Chinese Language and Literature and the study conditions of Thai students currently studying in the school.

During the ASEAN Education Exchange Week last year, our school hosted the Chinese Bridge Summer Camp. Mr. Steven Chana Kitikiatisak participated in the activities and highly recognized the quality and achievements of GZMU. Two schools were reached consensus and signed cooperation agreement. Last year, our school sent 10 international Chinese language education students to Maryvit School for internship which resulted in fruitful feedbacks. In January this year, another 6 students were sent for internship again. Through the practice of internship, the students' teaching practice ability has been improved, horizons have been expanded, and the ability of intercultural communication also has been enhanced.

Afterwardsthey conducted further discussion on deepening the exchanges and cooperation between two universities. A consensus was reached on the establishment of overseas internship bases from our school to Maryvit School and the further improvement about this project.
